October Meeting Information

Our next meeting is on Tuesday, October 1st at the Westside Community Center 3534 S 108th St.

Our very own Kelly Lautenbach with It's Just Sew (https://itsjustsew.com/) will be providing a lecture about Three Kinds of Quilters and Finishing Projects. She will also provide a Trunk Show. 

Social time starts at 6pm with the business meeting and lecture beginning at 6:30pm. 

Bring your Completed QuiltCon Community Outreach Blocks, Show and Tell, and your payment for the October workshop.

We will have two r@ffle prizes and door prizes at the meeting. Our on-going monthly prize is donated by Haley Fetters with Mistletoe Quilting Co and is worth $65 of quilting services! For our second prize, a member has generously donated a 66x36 cutting mat valued at $199! Thank you for your generosity! Tickets are $1 for 1 or 6 for $5. Good luck and see you there!

4th Quarter Challenge

Make "Something for Your Sewing Space" for our White Elephant Gift Exchange at the December meeting. Think scraps bin, pin cushion, project bag, etc! Wrap it/put it in a bag and bring it to the December meeting to participate in the exchange. Can't wait to see your creations!

Rings Revival Quilt with Kelly Lautenbach

In this fun workshop Kelly will teach us about the Sew Kind of Wonderful Ruler while walking us through making the “Rings” component of this quilt.  If you are not up to making a quilt, this could be modified into a pillow.  Come learn from OMQG’s own member Kelly Lautenbach!

Date: Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 -- 5:30 PM - 9 PM

Cost: $25 OMQG Members and $35 Non-Members

   *This workshop is limited to 15 participants

What to Bring: 

• Rings Revival quilt pattern (Online you can purchase either the PDF pattern that you print yourself and/or have on your device for $12 OR a print copy shipped to your home for $12 + S&H + tax.)
  
• Quick Curve Ruler by Sew Kind of Wonderful (Fabric Bash carries this ruler; please purchase it in advance.)
• Sew Square 10 Square up Ruler by Sew Kind of Wonderful (Optional)
• Fabrics of your choice to make the quilt/pillow/learn technique (see quilt pattern for requirements)
• Basic Sewing Supplies (Rotary cuter, cutting mat, scissors, small iron, ironing mat, seam ripper, thread for machine, pins or clips)
• Sewing Machine, power cord and pedal, extra bobbin, extra needle, patchwork or standard machine foot
