OMQG Presents:
2023 BOM - Stars Over Omaha
For 2023 Lynn Poly has put together a Block of the Month for us titled Stars Over Omaha. Each month we will be sharing a new Star block for you to make and by the end you will have enough to make a small throw quilt.
Fabric requirements:
Background: If you plan to make all 12 blocks for a throw size you will want at least 4 yards of background fabric. This should also give you enough for an option to add a small sashing and border if you would like. If you are unsure on how you will want to finish your quilt it is best to use something that is easy to buy more of or just buy more in advance. You could also make table runners or bags or something else out of the stars as well and not need as much fabric.
For the stars: It is estimated you will need approximately a minimum of four or five different colors for each star. A fat quarter bundle would work great as well as going scrappy.
Colorways: Lynn is using a dark blue background with batiks for the stars. Other ideas: red, white and blue; or Christmas fabrics or low volume for a softer look. It would really work in any colorway you want to use.
Each block pattern will be posted to blog by the 5th of the month. All links will also be saved to this page so they will be easy to find in one spot.
