We're glad you're here! There are several opportunities for you to get involved when you join the Omaha Modern Quilt Guild. Below is information about the various opportunities we offer throughout the year. Join us!
Monthly Meetings:
Meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month. We have a variety of speakers, hands on activities and demonstrations - come get inspired and meet fellow modern quilters!
Monthly Row of the Month:
In 2026, we are doing a Monthly Row of the Month. Each row is completely different from the others. There will be a total of 9 rows and was designed to be a surprise every month. For those who have to see what it looks like before starting, there is a link to the completed mockup.
Workshops:
We offer a variety of workshops throughout the year to inspire our members to learn new things.
Block Lotto:
Roughly
each quarter we strive to host a block lotto using a free block
pattern available to all members! For each block made you will receive entry to
win either the entire lot or enough to make a throw size quilt based on
how many blocks were entered.
Quarterly Challenges:
Each quarter we have a Quarterly Challenge for our members to participate. They are designed to pique your interest enough to spark creativity and provide enough parameters to point you in a direction
Community Engagement Opportunities:
We have three partnerships for our Community Engagement Opportunities.
- Lined Drawstring Backpack for Boystown
- Kindness for Kennadi - Donate quilts to the NICU at Children's Hospital Nebraska
- Girls Inc. Quilts for Protege House
Threaded Together Hand Stitching Group:
Group meets monthly on the 4th Monday from 1-4pm. Location varies.
Quilt Shows:
The OMQG has made it a goal to have a quilt show every 2 years to showcase our members' artistry, creativity and talent. It also gives us an opportunity to share modern quilting with the community. We are planning for your next show in 2027!
In Person Sew Days:
Watch for the dates and details to be posted throughout the year to participate in Sew Days.
Retreats:
We typically offer 2 retreats each year - spring & fall, watch for updates in your emails and on social media for more information.
