OMQG May Meeting Minutes

May Meeting Minutes have been posted to the blog in the Meeting Minutes section.

May Meeting Recap

 May Meeting Recap

For our May meeting we had the incredible Cindy Erickson join us! She spoke with us on what it's like to be a quilt judge and what they look for during a show. She also shared her experience with us on being a Quilt Con judge! Her biggest takeaway when entering a quilt into Quilt Con is to make sure your quilt stands out amongst the crowd and that your pictures show how amazing it is!

June Meeting - Jacquie Gering

Our upcoming June meeting, which will be on the 7th, Jacquie Gering will be joining us! She will also be hosting a workshop the following day based on her book Walk 2.0. For more information and to get yourself signed up please see this blogpost - http://omqg.blogspot.com/2022/05/jacquie-gering-workshop-sign-up.html

Designs include a sampling from each of the chapters in the new book including rotational designs, sashiko inspired designs, designs based on the 60 degree grid as well as variations of designs from WALK. Designs taught in this class are more complex, intricate and challenging.

May OMQG BOM 22 Block

May OMQG 22 BOM Block

Susie Bonder has put together the block already and has some tips to share!

"There are several options for making the blocks in the online pattern. The description says string piecing, but the instructions are FPP. You choose which blocks you want to build.  I chose 1W, 2B, 3W and 4 W to get the effect you see in the photos. The block will not match the mock up photo exactly but will be close and fit where it is supposed to."
